A FLEXIBLE PLAN, AT YOUR PACE
Make the days your own.
A Paris itinerary feels less crowded when a neighborhood gives each day its shape. Choose a museum or walk as an anchor and leave the rest adjustable. These suggestions are starting points to arrange around current opening days and reservations.
Ideas for your days
Use these as starting points, then adjust around current opening days, weather and your interests.
An afternoon in the Marais
Choose one museum, then follow it with a walk through the surrounding streets. The area brings together collections, independent shops and places to eat; resist putting every stop on a timetable. A little browsing time gives you room to follow your own interests.
A Left Bank day
Build a walk around Saint-Germain-des-Prés with a café break and one indoor stop. If shopping is part of the plan, choose a few streets rather than trying to cover the whole district. Save an alternative indoor activity for a wet afternoon.
Montmartre at your pace
Give the hill and its streets their own part of a day. Pick a route that works for your mobility and energy rather than following every staircase. Check transport back to your accommodation before dinner so the return is as considered as the outward walk.
Plan the journeys between
Group each day around one part of Paris, then check the connections from your hotel. A map’s straight-line distance will not tell you about steps, station entrances or the walk with luggage. Confirm any access needs with the property itself.
Before you choose your stay
Photos can make compact rooms hard to judge. Compare stated floor area, bed configuration and bathroom details. For an older building, ask about the route from street to room, including whether reaching the lift involves steps.
Check room sizes and lift access in the property details, particularly when traveling with large bags.
Keep planning with local sources
